Student Council

The Student Council is composed of a total of 12 academic representatives of the different sectors of study at Dawson and 5 demographic representatives of various student groups at Dawson. The Student Council is Chaired by the Chairperson and minutes are recorded by the Deputy-Chairperson.

The role of the Student Council is to offer opinions, advice and help to the Executive Committee in projects and areas that concern students. While they can`t make unilateral decisions, they make recommendations that will then be passed along to the Executive Committee.  The Student Council helps the Executive Committee have a better idea of the issues that students are facing and how they can better their Dawson experience and advocate for them. Some Student councillors will also be called upon to sit on some of the College`s committees, boards and Councils as official Student Representatives.
